Red Chilli

Red chilli is a type of spice that is commonly used in cooking to add heat, flavor, and color to various dishes. It comes from the fruit of the Capsicum annuum plant, which is a member of the nightshade family.

Red chillies vary in size, shape, and level of heat, depending on the variety. They can range from mild to extremely hot, and are classified on the Scoville scale, which measures the heat of chili peppers. The smaller the pepper, the hotter it tends to be.

In addition to its heat, red chilli is known for its vibrant red color, which comes from the compound capsaicin. Capsaicin is also responsible for the burning sensation that red chilli can cause when ingested.

Red chilli is used in many different types of cuisine, including Indian, Mexican, and Thai, and is a common ingredient in dishes such as curries, stews, and sauces. It can be used fresh or dried, and is often ground into a powder for ease of use. Red chilli powder can be added to spice blends, marinades, and rubs, as well as to soups and stews for added heat and flavor.
